While there may be some sway from the previous list, I think this top ten are set in stone, though not necessarily in this order.
10 Herbert Hoover
Wrongly maligned as president, but still more interesting outside of the White House. He was a hard ass little orphan, he went on adventures around the world making money, the original Lord Miles. He fed starving Europeans in WW1 and tried to do the same in WW2 but FDR said no. He convinced Truman to feed them after the war however. He also deported millions of illegals. He and Nixon were both Quakers, giving Quakers the best presidential quality ratio.
9 Gerald Ford
Pardoned Nixon, cut aid to Israel for refusing to make peace with Egypt, told NYC to drop dead for blowing their budget, and a footballer.
8 Chester Arthur
People believed he was going to be extremely corrupt when he became president after Garfield was assassinated, however he instead followed through with his reforms, creating an American meritocracy that lasted until FDR. He also banned the Chinese who at the time were drug dealers.
7 James Madison
Another hard ranking. I was either going to rank the other Jeffersonians high and him low, or as I have it now. He’s the last president to fight during a war as president. You could say that he was overly aggressive leading to the War of 1812, or you could say he wanted to secure America’s independence. He fought the War of 1812 to stop Britain from arming Indians from their bases on US territory, and from kidnapping US sailors. I think his writing as a founding father is better than Jefferson’s. If Jefferson is a hippy libtard than Madison is Carl Schmitt.
6 Eisenhower
Bad general, however as president he became Christian and truly got his life together. He ended the Korean War and Austrian occupation. Supported Europeans in Guatemala against communists. Created the highways. Deported millions of illegals. Passed the only Civil Rights legislation that made sense, no poll tax. Refused to support Israel, Britain, and France’s war of aggression. Kicked communists and homosexuals out of the US government. Put God in the pledge of allegiance.
5 James K Polk
Promised that in one term he would achieve manifest destiny by annexing California and Oregon. He did. He became Christian before his death.
4 Andrew Jackson
The model American. He fought in the Revolutionary War as a child, annexed Florida as a general, and sent the British packing at New Orleans. Put the Supreme Court in it’s place and deported understandably violent Indians for the good of the country, despite not hating them himself and adopting two Indian sons. He even put the banks in their place and beat his would be assassin with his cane. He became Christian before his death, making him the first president since Washington to be a Nicene Christian.
3 Richard Nixon
Defeat does not stop Nixon, even after Watergate he has found new praise from the Zoomers who did not grow up purely on TV. From poor kid without only determination to unemployed aspiring rapper. He kicked communists out of congress, ended the Vietnam War in a temporary victory, ended the draft, let 18 year olds vote, passed START 1, created the EPA, opened up China setting up the mostly peaceful defeat of the USSR by exploiting the Sino Soviet split, temporarily crushed the corrupt media, and put down violent criminals in America. He would go on to win 49/50 states and over 60% of the popular vote. Despite having no involvement in Watergate he resigned because he believed it was more important to put America first.
2 William Henry Harrison
Frontier hero, defeated the Indians in Ohio opening the way for the American march west. I wish we had another hero to defeat the Indians in Ohio. He also had the shortest presidency ever clearly making him one of the best.
1 George Washington
The first president, got us our independence, also saw combat as president, sought to avoid future wars, and peacefully resigned. Truly the father of the nation.
I agree Jackson was, in my opinion, our greatest president after Washington and I'm glad to see Nixon and Hoover get rehabilitated in some circles and I like Eisenhower, but I disagree with the Suez Crisis stance, we should've supported Britain and France. Yes, Israel is cringe, but Britain could've been possibly stronger ally to us and it was them and the French who built the Suez Canal, so they had a right to it.
A good list, but I also like McKinley, TR(suboptimal in office but a fantastic personality), Cleveland, Fillmore, Buchanan(despite rumors), Pierce, and Harding(despite being a journo).
